Hogarth Center Film Series

The Connie Hogarth Center for Social Action will be hosting three film screenings in the Castle at  Manhattanville College in Purchase,NY  starting February 26th at 7 pm.  (Everyone welcome!!  Free.refreshments.)  (see flyer, below)

Wed, Feb 26th  7pm:   LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT.

Feature documentary that showcases the close-knit ties between the Hip Hop Music community and America's social and political policy in the last 30 years.

Wed,  March 5th 7pm:  PETE SEEGER: THE POWER OF SONG 

Interviews, archival footage and home movies used to illustrate a social history of folk artist and activist Pete Seeger.     (IN MEMORY OF PETE, WHO DIED THIS JANUARY.  HE WAS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE CONNIE HOGARTH CENTER FOR SOCIAL ACTION) 

Wed, March 19th 7pm:  GASLAND #2.

The definitive documentary on HYDROFRACKING ('FRACKING); Documentary presents the gas industry's myth of natural gas as clean and safe; presents fracking wells as leaking over time, contaminating
water, air and endangering the earth's climate with the potent greenhouse gas, methane.

It will be a wonderful night of spoken word, films, dance, talks and
refreshments---and at 5:30 PM, a candlelight vigil starting at the Castle to kick off our
event
